JOB DESCRIPTION/TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Fire Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce fire safety standards and regulations throughout the decommissioning process.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough fire risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
• Fire Response Planning: Develop and implement fire response plans and procedures, including evacuation protocols and coordination with local fire departments.
• Training and Drills: Conduct regular fire safety training sessions and drills for all personnel to ensure preparedness in the event of an emergency.
• Inspections and Audits: Perform regular inspections and audits of fire protection systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate fire incidents and near-misses to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of fire safety activities, inspections, and incidents, and prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory authorities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, corporate, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to fire safety.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with excellent communication and leadership skills
• Works under limited supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
• Good communication skills
• Familiar with Microsoft office
• Knowledge of industry codes and regulations
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
• Ability to carry up to 15 pounds; handle and reach below shoulder
• Ability to use hands to accomplish tasks as assigned
• Ability to effectively communicate; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
• Ability to see close and distance and basic colors/shades
• Ability to work alone and perform under deadline pressure
• Ability to work outdoor and indoor activities under various conditions
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
Required Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fire Marshal or in a similar fire safety role, preferably in a high-risk industrial environment.
Preferred Experience
• Previous Nuclear Power Plant Experience
Certifications
• Certified Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, or Fire Protection Specialist credentials are highly desirable.
