Estimating Manager
EnergySolutions is hiring an Estimating Manager for a position in the Southeast and possibly remote. This position manages the estimating effort for projects and will be responsible for providing estimating support during bid, proposal and project execution phases. Implements and ensures compliance with technical standards and procedures.
JOB DESCRIPTION/TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
·Implements and ensures compliance with technical standards and procedures.
·Manages and directs work schedules and daily activities for the estimating department.
· Implements technical estimating standards and procedures.
· Solicits supplier bids and proposals for labor, material and equipment and evaluates proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirement.
· Ensures that project and department milestones and goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
· Coordinates and prepares monthly reporting.
· Performs estimating through standard EnergySolutions software.
· Interfaces with finance department on budget and business plan preparation through email and review meetings.
· Implements project controls systems using EnergySolutions standard software and procedures to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
· Maintains documentation for all estimating activities
· Recruits, manages, trains, counsels, evaluates and disciplines department staff.
· Ensures department personnel are adhering to company policies and are administering practices in a fair and equitable manner through daily supervision.
· Implements Safety Culture for the department by making attendance at all safety meetings mandatory, ensuring that all staff members are accountable and committed to a safe and accident-free working environment.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
· Effective interpersonal skills
· Project controls management skills, including forecasting, scheduling and real-time operations
· Strong written and verbal communications
· Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software and report preparation
· Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge sufficient to pinpoint causes of deficiencies in achievement
· Intermediate MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access Database skills
· Intermediate skills with software such as P6, Success Estimator, COBRA, ORACLE and EVMS
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
· Ability to sit
· Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
· Basic math skills
· Ability to work inside an office
· Ability to perform highly repetitive motions with fingers, hands, wrists, and shoulders
· Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public
· Ability to perform under deadline pressure
· Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Bachelor's degree required
Certifications
· EVMS, Primavera P6 or COBRA preferred
· Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Required Experience
· A minimum of 5 years estimating or project controls experience
· A minimum of 1 years previous management experience
· Experience with use of various software: Pertmaster, At Risk, Primavera P6, Success Estimator, COBRA, ORACLE, EVMS, Crystal Reports
Preferred Experience
· DOE experience
· A minimum of 3 years previous management experience
· Previous experience with environmental remediation projects
