Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the GARDIAN-III (G3) system at SLDA. Acts as the liaison between project workers and assigned project manager to ensure successful accomplishment of established project objectives. Assists and advises the work of personnel assigned to support G3 operations, ensuring project compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accomplishing the project objectives within the constraints of the project, as directed by management and is responsible for ensuring successful implementation and execution of project tasks.
  • Participates in the developing and/or updating of project plans, providing project-specific input.
  • Implements and ensures verbatim compliance with corporate and project plans and procedures, providing feedback in areas that need modification.
  • Assists and advises project personnel supporting G3 operations to ensure all work is being completed on schedule in accordance with project organizational chart of responsibility.
  • Prepares and reviews G3 assay reports and related tracking documents.
  • Maintains oversight of G3 system QA, and trouble-shooting/resolution of system hardware and/or software technical issues.
  • Keeps project management informed of G3 work status, highlighting deviations from the plan.
  • Anticipates potential problem areas, analyzes and recommends solutions or corrective actions to ensure proper G3 system operation and availability to support project as required.
  • Manages work on-site.
  • Responsible for specific areas of a project.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds; handle and reach above or below shoulder
  • Ability to use hands to accomplish tasks as assigned
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend/stoop, crouch and kneel
  • Ability to effectively communicate; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
  • Ability to see close and distance; basic colors/shades
  • Ability to work inside an office, outside and in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection
  • Ability to work with moving objects/hazardous machines and slippery/uneven walking surfaces
  • Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public
  • Ability to operate equipment, drive a vehicle and travel overnight
  • Ability to perform under deadline pressure
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education
  • High School diploma or GED
Certifications
  • None required
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with gamma spectroscopy, ISOCS, and radiation measuring instrumentation
