Nuclear AOV and MOV Technicians perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at client locations. Ensure timely communication with management, co-workers, and customers to facilitate successful job completion. Complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical control devices or valves using power and hand tools.
Perform functional post-maintenance testing, diagnostic testing, and calibrations of valves.
Record maintenance information, including test results, material usage, and repairs made.
Calibrate instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, and level.
Test valves and regulators for leaks and accurate settings using precision testing equipment.
Install, inspect, and test electric meters, relays, and power sources.
Report hazardous field situations and notify repair crews for major repairs.
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience.
Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired.
Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements.
Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools.
Availability for shift work, if needed.
Ability to support other crafts as requested.
Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels).
Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures.
Ability to pass specific training and qualifications.
Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
