Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the ESNS nuclear project from initiation through completion and close-out.
• Develop and implement project execution strategies that prioritize safety, quality, cost control, and schedule adherence.
• Foster a culture of safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring all activities adhere to nuclear industry standards and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Lead and motivate a diverse team that includes union trades, construction managers, engineers, and other key personnel.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for ESNS union leadership, facilitating collaboration and effective communication to resolve labor issues and maintain project harmony.
• Understand and manage to current labor agreements in conjunction with union representatives and project management.
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and schedules, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies (NRC, OSHA, etc.) to ensure the project meets all relevant codes, licensing, and reporting obligations.
• Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and management of subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to executive management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Champion best practices in quality assurance, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale construction projects, with at least 5 years in the nuclear power sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing union construction projects and effective labor relations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nuclear industry codes, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse groups.
• Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
• Familiarity with project management software and reporting tools.

Preferred Attributes

• PE (Professional Engineer) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
• Experience with decommissioning or nuclear construction projects.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union work rules specific to the nuclear industry.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Work Environment and Conditions

• Project-based at the Kewaunee site; travel may be required for stakeholder meetings.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security and safety clearances.
• Occasional extended hours and weekend work as project milestones require.
