Job Summary Is responsible for the support and oversight of Quality programs (including Quality Control) to ensure applicable quality requirements are met. Ensures adequate quality assurance (QA/QC) support is provided to assigned sites/divisions/business units/projects. Is responsible for the effective development and implementation of QA/QC programs/program elements to ensure all products and services meet organizational standards and customer requirements.
Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities
Provides effective oversight of business group/project/discipline QA/QC Program and QA/QC Program elements to ensure high quality products and services for customers.
Manages staff selection, development and retention. Establishes and monitors work goals and objectives. Evaluates employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods.
Provides direction, guidance and training to QA staff and quality control (QC) staff on QA/QC matters.
Follows organizational policies and procedures and ensures staff is in compliance.
Develops performance standards and objectives and measures progress toward these goals.
Provides QA/QC support—including planning, scheduling and performance—for QA/QC activities.
Reviews customer contracts issued to identify QA requirements that must be met.
Evaluates, recommends and develops policies and procedures to ensure awareness of, and compliance with, QA requirements.
Stays informed of changes made to applicable codes, standards and regulations.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Assists with significant nonconformance and condition reports.
Serves as the lead auditor on complex nuclear QA audits.
Promotes communication to enhance and encourage employee awareness of QA requirements.
Serves as the primary interface with external QA/QC audit/inspection personnel.
Supports the maintenance of the document control and records management system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintain compliance in technical and administrative areas including knowledge of codes of construction and inspection, such as ASME B31.1, AWS D1.1, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, ASME NQA-1
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree requiredin a technical field or a minimum of 10 years of experience in the QA field
Certifications
Certification as a lead auditor per NQA-1 (preferred)
Certification as a certified quality manager (preferred)
SNT-TC-1A Level II or Ill Certifications (preferred)
Required Experience
A minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear, engineering or manufacturing QA
Extensive experience with NQA-1
QC NDE Experience: VT,MT,PT
Code U, R, S Stamp
Preferred Experience
Commercial nuclear power plant or U.S. Department of Energy site experience
Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC)
Commercial Grade Dedication of Items & Services.

Proven ability to manage and/or monitor the QA/QC activities associated with a discipline or project on a daily basis
Strong knowledge of QA/QC programs
Strong knowledge of the development of QA/QC program/procedural documents
Proven ability to manage and/or monitor the QA/QC activities associated with a specific area/location
Ability to obtain Nuclear Power Plant access
Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to carry up to 20 pounds; handle and reach below shoulder
Ability to use hands to accomplish tasks as assigned
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb and bend/stoop
Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
Basic math and computer skills; ability to read blueprints
Basic hand/eye coordination and depth perception
Ability to work inside an office and outside
Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public
Ability to drive a vehicle, travel overnight and perform under deadline pressure
