The QC Inspector Is responsible for inspections to ensure compliance with client, industry, and regulatory standards. Oversees personnel quality performance to ensure acceptance of products and services. Performs inspections to ensure established standards are maintained and EnergySolutions customers receive high-quality products and services. his position is being hired to support Vogtle activities in Waynesboro, GA.
Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities
Provides quality control (QC) oversight and support to ensure compliance with governing requirements and to help ensure high-quality products and services for EnergySolutions customers.
Develop and maintain QC plans, procedures and checklists used during the inspection of fabrication activities.
Performs and documents inspections (e.g., dimensional inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections) of fabricated components.
Reviews inspection results and completes reports on inspection activities in accordance with applicable procedures.
Performs independent project surveillances as assigned.
Provides guidance on QC matters.
Report of nonconforming conditions and support of resolutions, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum education, experience and certifications required
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a CWI
Ability to pass a Jaeger 1 visual acuity test
American Welding Society (AWS) certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Required and Desired Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to operate basic computer programs (for example Word, Excel)
Proven ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings, including standard weld symbols, work documents and quality procedures.
Ability to interpret and report inspection results.
Demonstrated ability to properly use various measuring and test equipment to perform inspection, examination and testing activities (e.g., micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges and torque wrenches)
Capable of reading Jaeger number 1 or equivalent type and size letters at a distance of not less than 12 inches on a standard Jaeger test chart (with or without correction).
Ability to distinguish and differentiate contrast between colors used in the inspection/test method (e.g., Ishihara's tests for color blindness, or equivalent).
Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to handle, grip and reach above or below shoulder
Ability to use hands to accomplish tasks as assigned
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to carry and manipulate up to 20 pounds
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend/stoop and balance
Ability to effectively communicate; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
Ability to see close and distance; basic colors/shades
Ability to work inside an office, outside and in extreme temperatures
Ability to work with moving objects/hazardous machines and slippery/uneven walking surfaces
Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public
Ability to drive a vehicle, travel overnight and perform under deadline pressure
