Job Summary Supports executive management and business stakeholders through the full cycle of complex commercial construction agreements, including RFPs, bid proposals, contract negotiation, subcontract negotiation, contract management, procurement, change orders, corporate compliance, and regulatory compliance.
Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities
Assists general counsel in managing the legal functions of the organization.
Oversees a variety of complex transactions, from negotiation to completion of project execution.
Engages and manages outside counsel and subject matter experts for various legal and corporate matters.
Resolves disputes and spear-heads high-dollar collection efforts.
Conducts training for Contracts and Procurement department and Business Development group on legal and compliance issues.
Facilitates the development of partnership/teaming/joint-venture relationships with third parties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education
Juris Doctorate required
Certifications
State Bar certification
Required Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience with strong transactional history or general commercial construction experience
Experience in the engineering or construction industries
Preferred Experience
At least 5 years of experience with strong transactional or commercial construction history in general
Experience with regulatory compliance (NRC, DOE and/or DOD preferred)
Required and Desired Skills
Ability to negotiate contracts directly with counterparties
Ability to provide sophisticated legal analysis, facilitate transactions and effectively communicate legal requirements through training and advice to employees at all levels of the organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office products
